Jonathan Swan FICM
Jonathan spent ten years in senior management for Dell Inc. and has been a Credit Manager since 1984. The role at Dell centred around world-class cash collections, low DSO, low Bad Debt exposure and successful dispute management, all contributors to high ROIC. He played an influential role in a number of related projects all of which contributed to Dell’s superb cash generation, the most recent of these being the successful introduction of Outsourcing Receivables and the transfer of Collections activity to India. Much of the success was as a result of first class motivation, direction and development within the Collection teams. Jon’s experience with Dell includes working across the EMEA region bringing improvements in several countries, including Germany. Jon has presented and Chaired several Credit Conferences, including the ICM National Conference in 2005, the Credit Today National Conference at the NEC in 2001 and IQPC in 2004. In 2003 he formed part of the steering committee for the new Foundation Degree in Credit Management at Thames Valley University and has been a judge for the prestigious Credit Today Awards, held annually, since it’s inception. Apart from being a Fellow of the ICM, Jon is also a founding member of the European Credit Forum and is on the steering committee.
